August 25, 2009: This Day In History

In an attempt to do something "different" I have decided to post a "This Day In History" message. THe problem is that this really is not that "different". Bah! I shall do this any way. Some folk don't know their history and since the season of learning is around the corner, this may perhaps be a learning lesson. What happend on the August 25th ever since?

This Day In History (August 25th):

1944, Paris was liberated after years of Nazi occupation.

1975, Bruce Springsteen album "Born to Run" is out to buy.

Pipe News

BAHHH! I turns out that the water system throughout the entire town had to be turned off! Everyone was out of H20. It took all day for the Pipers to fix the main valve and the other pipes. I was obliged to help in the process. What might happen if this unnoticed system was off for an entire year??

As a final note the piping went patching-ly. The water system is working again.

8 Days Later

Maybe I should post an update? It has been six days since I last posted and well, very few interesting events have happened. The pipes at the old pipe plant have all been inspected. During one of the inspections a pipe cracked and burst. It was one of the pipes that was in for the water pressure. This may take an entire week for fix! The whole town is in a stirrer about the pipe plant. The main valve is still under investigation. Bah!

Rainy Yet Sunny?

Bah! The weather is indeed confusing. Today storms were in prediction but when I was out side it was hot and sunny. Then just a few hours ago it stated to rain. The clouds were out and so was the sun! It is a hot day with rain. What should I make of this?

Monopoly Movie?

Word on the web says that a movie version of the popular game Monopoly could happen in 2011! After reading a bit about this it appears that director Ridly Scott (Alien, Gladiator, Blade Runner) may direct this movie. What will come of it? Will it be about the economic times of the 30s back when the game was released? Or set in today's world? Maybe this is going to be a movie because those that own the Monopoly game (Hasbro) also own the Transformers toys. It seems like that company likes movies. If this movie is made it will probably be about money. The characters? A rich man with a top hat perhaps?

I will be keeping my eye on this story indeed.

Rain Rain Rainy Part III & Blog

Well! An update on the pipes is in! The police arrived at the scene within minuets. I was asked several questions by the police chief. It turns out that the water supply in the city had drastically gone down after the burst. Our pipe system here is very complex, I don't know what to expect. How the main pipe valve burst is currently under investigation. I think it went into critical and the pressure made it burst.

I am also reading more about this here blog system. I found this blog: the real blogger status has some informing information about this here blog system...Arh! Google friends? If anyone is reading this you may see a few changes "here and there". So much to read! Bahh!

Rain Rain Rany Part II

Water indeed! I was very surprised to see how much water the place lost. As I walked out my front door with the tape I was greeted with a gust of wind and the wetness of rail. Then I started to walk towards my old work place. Ben Ricgz (or known as B.R.) greeted me when I arrived at
the pipe plant. He said, "Go straight down to the basement, the valve room. Red door at the end of the hall". I rushed down the stairs and quickly walked towards the red door at the end of the hall, I knew where the room was he didn't have to tell me again!
When I opened the great red door J.R. was standing there with a huge tool in his hand (I don't know what it was). After we talked about what happened we then took the scarf tape I had brought and taped up the valve. That took some thirty minuets!

Here is what we "think" happened: All of the rain water filled up the drain pipes all across town. It was too much water and the main valve went into M1K mode and still could not hold it. M1K is critical. So then it just burst because of all the pressure. But then again an odd looking crack is on the main valve. Why is it there? Is it because I have never seen this before? I have worked here for over ten years and this has never happened before!

Rain Rain Rainy

Ah! Too much rain today. My old work place called and they needed some help! That is the topic of my post.

Today I got a call from Jay Arr, (sometimes J.R. for short). He told me that the big valve pipe has burst and he needs me to give him some more scarf tape. See I use to work down in the pipes and it has been exactly one year since I left work. I took a case of scarf tape as a going away present (very usefull indeeed).Well, this morning our little town had an overflowing amount of rain and it turns out that the pipes could not hold it. The valve pipe burst? That is the one pipe below that can hold almost anything! Anyway I must go down to the pipes and help J.R. tape that thing up! ---Until next time.

TV Is Like A Bad Movie

Television, blah! As most of you know already TV/TeleVision is at the current time (2009), hardly watchable at all. Let me explain by simply saying this: MTV, reality television, Bravo, ABC, "all new comedy", whatever is on at prime time...blah blah blog!

Today I watched the telly (TV) and it just so happened to be on the network ABC. While watching a sad excuse for an entertainment show a commercial once again appeared on screen. The commercial was for a "new" show on ABC: Defying Gravity. It's really an new show with an old idea. If you see the commercial for this show you will know all about it. To sum it up: It's Desperate Housewives in space or just another soap opera in a new setting. Another show about kiss kiss relationships! So original! Arrrrrg!! Now I know why I like books!

It seems as though the audience television (or just ABC) is geared towards is a group of people who only watch the screen if there is some sort of soap opera between characters or sex. It a shame television (or just ABC) has has taken this direction. Making us the viewer look no smarter than what they are showing us. Bahhh!!!!
