Say What With Those Lyrics?

I don't understand how so many good tunes have such strange or bad lyrics. The songs are fun but the lyrics are just ...horrible. Yes, I said horrible because they don't make any logical meaning.

Here are my three examples of "good song & bad lyrics":

1.
Band: Coldplay
Song: Rainy Day
Lyrics: "The deeper that the knife goes in
The more you win
You end up with less than where you begin
The deeper that the knife goes in..Oh oh.."

My reaction: What does that mean? I thought this was a hip song? If you would like another wacky lyrical piece from Coldplay, take a listen to the song Yellow.

2.
Band: Eagles
Song: Hotel California
Lyrics: "So I called up the captain,
’please bring me my wine’
He said, ’we haven’t had that spirit here since nineteen sixty nine’
And still those voices are calling from far away,
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say..."

My reaction: Why does this song sound relaxing yet the lyrics are confusing and creepy? Yes, a little exaggeration on me but this song is too popular. How is this song a "hit" and why do the lyrics make he dislike this song? Welcome to the hotel California... OK... what is this song about captain?

3.
Band: Radiohead
Song: Lotus Flower
Lyrics: "Listen to your heart it will sneak myself into your pocket
Invisible, do what you want, do what you want
I will sink and I will disappear
I will slip into the groove and cut me up and cut me up"

My Reaction: Again, another song with an OK tune but with horrible lyrics that sound recycled from other record with the same meaning. Huh? That is what I hear when I read this too.

This is just a sample of the weird lyric songs out there. Just read the lyrics to some of your favorite songs and figure it out.

Party Over

Hello, yes I have been away for a long time. Hello again, I shall leave it at that. I was away, as was obvious.

Today I post about the topic of politics as it is dealing with the United States of America; the national level. First, I would like to say that I enjoy America and I like the USA. It is a fanstastic land. I am also able to `critic the country to which I am also glad as part of speech freedoms. I like Amecia but not the "political leaders" in D.C. Bah! As we all know!

In the current news the debt limit is being debated about with much jabbering on both teams. It is not about the Tparty the D the R the Pz. It is about U taking the blame and striving to do better. Not bitter. Arg!
